John Rendez- A True Friend who was "Around When Nobody Was" to Nora Aunor.

In a 2017 i-Witness interview with Sandra Aguinaldo, Nora Aunor categorically stated that
"nung kinakailangan ko yong tulong ng ibang tao. tulong ng pamilya ko - wala silang lahat. Pero si John (Rendez) andyan".

The wholesale and collective cold-shoulder treatment of John Rendez by the institutions in the Philippines after Nora Aunor's passing is truly heartbreaking. It smacks of ingratitude.

Those who hails Nora Aunor the most and put her in a pedestal are the most guilty of humiliating John Rendes - directly or indirectly.

The one man who stand by Nora in her journey towards the twilight of her life. There are so many names in showbusiness who became iconic names because of their using of, and association with, including politicians who benefited from, Nora Aunor.

The saddest episode in the aftermath of Nora Aunor's passing is the snobbery of John Rendez in unison as if he was the most 'baddest' person that ever came into the inner circle in the life of Nora Aunor.

While Nora have a very high regard for John Rendez, the distaste of those whose main intention is to use and squeeze Nora dry without giving back to Nora what the energy they suck out of her like energy vampires without giving back those energy.

John Rendez was a staple among Nora Aunor's support system, if not the only one but the number one. He was there in the last 30 plus years of Nora Aunor's life.

In a necrological service, popularly known as memorial service and less formal as funeral service, decency dictates that the immediate family, close friends, and anyone who was important in the deceased's life should and must be invited and be part of it.

Whereas, in the last 30 years, Nora Aunor have categorically said that John Rendez is family, anak, friend, kaibigan, karamay and yet it was John Rendez who was set aside during this historical event - clearly a slap in the face.

Let us be reminded in this short video during the 2017 i-Witness interview of Nora Aunor on what she said about John Rendez.

John Rendez, perhaps is too traumatized to express all of this so allow me to be my brothers keeper John.

The tragedy of this all is during the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) jointly organized state necrological services for National Artist Nora Aunor, John Rendez was not even invited (was he invited to speak at all?) to speak at the podium were it was held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila. With all due respect to Charo Santos and Film Director Joel Lamangan, they should have included John Rendez as he was the most  - read that again "THE MOST" - significant person in the life of Nora Aunor on the conclusion of her chapter among us mortals.

Hind pa huli ang lahat, while John Rendez is still with us, and if we truly want to celebrate Nora Aunor's life and legacy, it is time that we acknowledge John Rendez. Allow me to acknowledge you John Rendez.

Dear John Rendez,

If they won't acknowledge you, allow me as your humble brother in Christ to acknowledge you. You are love, you are loved, you are great, you are worthy. Nora Aunor wants you to succeed and be strong.

Respectfully,
Francis Tanseco.

Allow me to dedicated this song "KAPATAWARAN" which is a Christmas song that I plan to release before Christamas 2025. I am in the process of looking for a singer for this song so if anyone is interested to interpret this song, do let me know. Perhaps John Rendez would like to sing this song, if that is the case I would be very honored.

Here is a video of Nora Aunor's rendition of "Yesterday When I Was Young" which the uploader dedicated to John Rendez.
