Cocoy Laurel painted Nora Aunor and portrayed her in two paintings as the idolized and adulated thespian. 

Whereas Cocoy Laurel have this "Movie Queen" painting, I just realized that I did a similar painting portraying Nora Aunor as the entertainer  she is in my piece I titled "Superstar".

Supertar is a title that is associated to Nora Aunor because of her TV musical variety show with the same title. A musical variety show that began in 1970 and lasted for 22 years. It was broadcasted on RPN 9 and IBC 13 on primetime Philippine TV.

Nora Aunor started as a singer from winning as the grand champion in "Tawag ng Tanghalan'.

Her prominence in singing and eventually acting solidified her stature as indeed a Superstar.

 Just like yours truly, Filipino actor, recording artist and painter Mr. Victor "Cocoy" Laurel who sadly passed away June 14, 2025 have also been inspired to paint Nora Aunor as his muse. How many times did he painted Nora Aunor?  I am intrigued coz I am a fan of other painters work especially if it is Nora Aunor as muse in a painting. As far as I am aware, Cocoy Laurel might have painted Nora Aunor three times since 1970 till his passing in 2025? Nora Aunor in "Manghuhula" to start shooting, says Mari Cusi.

Ms. Mari Cusi, a number one Noranian, a mover  and organizer of and in several Nora Aunor fans club, and a personal friend to Philippines National Artist for Broadcast and Film Nora Aunor have confirmed that Bong Lozano's "Manghuhula" screenplay will start shooting immediately after Nora's angioplasty. "Sipag talaga ni Ate GUY" says Marie Cusi on her facebook post immediately after the passing of Ms. Nora Aunor on April 16, 2025.  The puzzle is coming together slowly but surely. This info solves the question of a Cocoy Laurel painting of Nora Aunor. This blog is dedicated to a great Filipino painter Cocoy Laurel and our beautiful and favorite muse Ms. Nora Aunor.
