A Filipino- American director with his film production company based in Virginia, USA is

making waves as a director with an upcoming movie project “Kasalanan Ba Ang Ibigin

Ka?” (Is it a sin to love you?) for spring 2025.

 

Director June Daguiso, is busy planning, auditioning and preparing for the a shoot to direct his upcoming 60th film to date, about an affair movie, a polyandry film with a surprising twist in the story.

 

While chatting online, Director June Daguiso said, that shooting will commence on July 26, 2025 through end of September.

 

Oscar and Golden Globe nominations.

Yes, you read it right, he have made movies which were nominated to two of the prestigious film award giving body in the USA.

“My movie ‘Saving Ana’ was nominated for the first round for 3 Categories - ‘Best Feature Film, Best actor, and Best original song’ for the Oscar 2024” said June when asked about his previous project.

He further stated that “Another movie ‘Lion of Judah Legacy’ was also nominated to the first round in 2025 Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actor and Best Feature film”.

Writing music.

Director June Daguiso also writes the lyrics and music of the theme songs for the movie “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka? (Is it a sin to love you?) with the same song title as the film.

 

New Album Release for 2025.

He also mentioned that he have an album to be released on July 22, 2025 titled 'Master June Daguiso' with 10 songs in the track. “Something exciting to look forward to’, he excitedly expressed.

 

Film Production and other related endeavor.

Director June Daguiso is also the CEO of MJD Productions, head and founder of World Music and Independent Film Festival and a host of the Hollywood in Washington DC talk show.

“I am excited for our first shooting day for this project”, said Daguiso. The movie is expected to be completed in November and showing will be announced in due time.

His first film ‘Full Circle’ hit theaters in 2007 in Cinema Drafthouse, Arlington, Viginia.

Karate along with movie making.

While many know him for his work in directing, music writing, he has also spent years developing his Martial Skills.  He competed under North American Karate Association and ranked on the top 15 in fighting, Weapons and for Kata. 

June taught martial arts for 10 years in the  state of Maryland and Virginia from 1989- 2000.

 

Brief Background and Migrating to the USA.

Daguiso moved to the USA in 1979. 

Daguiso is originally from Manila, Philippines. He Graduated high school in Quezon City High School (1974 ) and only 2 years in College (University of the East). 

June’s mother is from Sorsogon, Bicol and my dad isfrom Legaspi, Bicol.

June is currently working on several feature films for 2025 including ‘Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Kita?,’.

October launch for another movie.

‘Tired of Living: But we are afraid to die’ will premier in Cinema York in Chicago on October 29, 2025 and the rest of his films will be screened sometimes before the end of this year in Maryland and Virginia.

Motivation and inspiration.

His sensitivity to emotion and storytelling is what gives him his trademark in the films he makes.

Over time, following his dreams and passion is what gives him motivation. He is also inspired by the works of other artist such as Fernando Poe and Bruce Lee and many more legends in film-making.

He readily admitted that he also is a fan of Nora Aunor artistry. And why not? Both June Daguiso's root and that of Philippine National Artist for Film and Broadcast Art Nora Aunor is from Bicolandia. Additionally, director June Daguiso use to be a big fan of Imelda Papin when he was still a resident of the Philippines.

Perhaps another Bicolana Imelda Papin should get in touch with June Daguiso and produce and make a film together?
