Nora Aunor - the case for Sainthood?

Part 1

The case and the road to Sainthood for Nora Aunor?

I dare say she lived her life as a Saint sent from heaven. Nora Aunor's death has proven that she lived her entire life in the spirit of charity, generosity, humble, dedicated to the poor and compassionate which are all attitude and conduct of most Saints.

While other headline of celebrities read like "blah blah blah died and left behind multi BILLION inheritance to family", Nora Aunor's is different. The common eulogy that one hears or reads is that she had lived her life being kind to all regardless of who that person is or what status that person have.

The headline were not about wealth but about how kind she was, how generous she was, how helpful she was, how down to earth she was, how humble she was, how unpretentious she was, how charitable she was, how compassionate she was. All of which are the very essence which makes a saint a Saint.

Of course a lot of those who were declared Saints have a dark or very dark past. Some were made Saints because they killed the non-believers and converted the others. Nora Aunor have some dark past alright but the conclusion and synopsis of her life is that of kindness, charity,  humble, generosity, always helping the needy and compassionate.

I am highlighting the values which Nora Aunor lived her life for that is saintly in light of what we see among not only celebrities but politicians too. In Hollywood for example, celebrities are the once promoting an unnatural way of life and worst of all are their promotion of satanism.

Nora Aunor have also made conscious decision to give voices to the voiceless when she made non-commercial and socially relevant subjects in movies such as that of a domestic helper, an OFW and patriotic characters to awaken many of us and to highlight social justice.

I dare say Nora Aunor should be made Saint and blessed. This is my opinion and I dare say it.

Now, before you hurl invectives to me and accuse me of fanatism, let me tell you one Saint in the Catholic Church who have a dark past. His name is Saint Paul. Yes, Paul the Apostle in circa 65 after death (AD).

You see, Paul otherwise known as Saul was a persecutor of Christians. It is unclear weather he personally killed any Christians however he actively participated in their persecution, including being present during the stoning of Stephen and imprisoning and beating Christians which would have likely leads to death of the victim. This sound to me that he probably killed a lot of Christians indirectly due to his actions. He even destroyed Churches and dragged Christian men and women to prisons which probably caused a lot of death to many of his persecuted victims. These are just some example of the dark past of Saint Paul.

But you see, he converted and mend his ways.

To be continued...
