State Funeral for National Artist Nora Aunor April 22, 2025 8:30AM at MET then LNMB.

The State Funeral and Necrological Services for National Artist for Film and Broadcast Art Ms. Nora Aunor will be held at the historic and fully restored Metropolitan Theater in Manila on April 22, 2025 (Tuesday) from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

Nora Aunor, a Filipino actress who made over 180 films to her credit, singer and best known as Superstar to movie scribes, Ate Guy to those who have worked with her, mama guy to those close to her and honored by the Philippine government as NATIONAL ARTIST for Film and Broadcast Arts which was signed into law by former Philippines President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the year 2022 is expected to be laid to rest with full state honors following her death at The Medical City in Pasig on Wednesday, April 16. 2025. She was 71.

As mandated by Presidential Decree No. 208, which grants lifetime privileges and posthumous honors to National Artists, including burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City. Funeral rites for deceased National Artist are normally held at the CCP - the Cultural Center of the Philippines, however as it is currently under renovation, a decision was made by the event organizer from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the CCP to have the necrological services at the MET - Metropolitan Theatre in Manila.

As reported in the news, speakers will include National Artist Ricky Lee (a close friend of Nora), producer-actress Charo Santos Concio, multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan, members of the family and others during the eulogy.

Nora Aunor's remains will be transferred to MET early Tuesday morning according to her son Ian De Leon.

After the formal necrological services, Nora Aunor's State Funeral will proceed to the Libingan ng mga Bayani, where she will be laid to rest.

Nora Aunor in "Manghuhula" to start shooting, says Mari Cusi.

 The puzzle is coming together slowly but surely. This info solves the question of a Cocoy Laurel painting of Nora Aunor. This blog is dedicated to a great Filipino painter Cocoy Laurel and our beautiful and favorite muse Ms. Nora Aunor.
